Many clients already have their design or logo ready to send to us. Or perhaps you are working with your own designer to create the design you need. Once your files are ready to go, find our tips on file formats and how to send your files to us here.
We also have many embroidery “‘ready-to-go” (RTG) designs available for you to choose from. Or we can tweak our RTG designs for you.
Whether you have your design ready, are working with a designer or looking to use one of ours, keep these tips below in mind for great embroidered apparel and gear.
Embroidery looks best when the design is simple, readable, and intentional. Because designs are stitched with thread, the best embroidery logos are simple, readable, and well-suited to the selected fabric.
Keep It simple - Clean shapes and solid elements stitch best. Avoid tiny details, thin lines, and very small text. Simple designs last longer and look more professional.
Pro-Tip: If it looks clear at business-card size, it typically will embroider well.
The right size design - The size requirements of the design will depend on intended placement on the garment. Specific size of design for your application can be determined after garments are selected.
Limit Colors - Less than five thread colors is ideal for embroidered designs. Consider the thread colors in your design (logo for example) and choose a garment fabric color that offers a high contrast if possible. This improves the visibility of your logo or design.
Consider the Fabric – Knit garments and performance wear are a knit fabric and many have considerable stretch. Overly dense designs or tiny details may cause stiffness or distortion when worn.
